I loved this layout for its elegant simplicity and striking dramatic monochromatic look - with just the accent of deep red. This would also make a most beautiful Christmas Card I think!

Wings - why I Digital Scrapbook

This layout was for Digital Scrapbooking Day - but it briefly sums up WHY I am am a digital scrapbooker... Briefy!

Journaling:I started scrapping after seeing a friends paper album. Initially it was only a creative outlet and an interesting way of presenting photos.

But then I realised that my children were growing up fast and I needed to capture the every day moments before the memories were lost.

Even more importantly I began to want to leave a little piece of me - my voice, my thoughts, my observations; for my children and their children.

I did not want future generations left wondering who the people in the pictures were.

I love the creative challenge, I love seeing the finished result, as each layout captures a little piece of me... and I admit it is even a form of escapism... Giving this house-bound, mother of three little children WINGS!

The story says the robbers put a gun into the mouth of the beauty salon manageress. Fortunately, no one killed or injured.



- a personal comment. I needed to organise certified copies and went to my local police station. I found it amusing, albeit a sad reflection on South Africa at the moment, that our police station uses the same armed response company we use... Hands up all those people who thought it was the police who would come running if you needed help?!

Today is my birthday and I decided to set up a blog.

Overall this has been a good week, I have been made a moderator at Digital Scrapbook Place and today I got a beautiful new 22 inch LCD monitor.
